Please remember that along with your basic fishing license you also need special tags for different species. For example for freshwater fishing when targeting Sturgeon, Non tidal Salmon, Steelhead,Shuswap Lake Char, Shuswap Lake Rainbow, and Kootney Lake Rainbow you will need additional Stamps. These are called conservation surcharges.
Sturgeon is catch and release only, and when you retain one of the above species during the allowed period to fish for them. Remember to record all info.
Always be aware where you are fishing because some of our rivers are Classified which means you will need an additional license to fish them.
